For the development of the web platform, Sitefinity CMS was selected due to its enterprise-grade capabilities, user-friendly interface, and robust content management features. Sitefinity allowed for the creation of a secure, scalable, and easily maintainable web application tailored to the needs of county coordinators and administrative staff across California. Its support for role-based access, multilingual content, and extensible architecture made it an ideal choice for delivering a consistent yet customizable experience to diverse stakeholders, ensuring smooth program management and effective statewide collaboration.
THE CHALLENGE
Prior to the establishment and expansion of the client’s statewide initiative, communities across California faced significant challenges in providing structured, consistent, and inclusive opportunities for youth engagement. Existing efforts to prevent teen substance abuse and risky behaviour were often fragmented and lacked the unified framework necessary for meaningful, statewide impact. Youth voices were frequently underrepresented in decision-making processes, and programs failed to consistently offer safe spaces, leadership roles, or skill development opportunities. The lack of centralized coordination and sustainable support structures made it difficult for local communities to maintain effective, youth-driven initiatives that could be scaled and replicated across diverse regions.
SOLUTION IMPLEMENTATION
To support the client in overcoming its challenges, DD implemented a centralized web-based solution developed on Sitefinity CMS—a robust and scalable platform ideal for managing content-rich, user-focused applications. The platform was tailored to meet the unique needs of the company’s ecosystem, allowing statewide program coordinators to easily manage content, streamline communication, and maintain consistency across the various programs.
