An organization in the United States
The National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) is a non-profit organization in the United States that develops and administers national certification programs for crane operators, riggers, and signalpersons. NCCCO was founded in 1995 with the goal of promoting crane safety and reducing the risk of accidents by establishing a standardized testing and certification program. The myCCO Portal is a platform that offers certification services to crane operators and related personnel. It provides various features such as online registration for exams, test sites location registration, access to study materials, certification renewal, and certification tracking, as well as a credential verification service for employers.
TECHNOLOGY CHOICE
THE CHALLENGE
The main objective of the project was to streamline the certification process and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of crane operation in the industry. The challenges included developing a user-friendly and scalable portal that would allow crane operators and related personnel to easily register for exams, access study materials, renew certifications, and track their certification progress. Additionally, the portal needed to provide a credential verification service for employers, ensuring that certified personnel were legitimate and up-to-date.
SOLUTION IMPLEMENTATION
To meet the client’s requirements, we provided a backend development team of professionals to develop the platform. We held daily standups with the development team and NCCCO’s innovation manager, Joel, to ensure that the project was progressing smoothly. We used the latest technology stack, including .NetCore 6 (API, AF), Azure (AD B2C, APIM, VM, AF, App Services, Blob Storage), Ms Dynamics (Power Apps, CRM/XRM), and Headless WordPress with ReactJs, to ensure that the platform was robust, scalable, and user-friendly. Additionally, we integrated external services such as Authrize.Net, Microsoft Graph API, and Zoomorphix to enhance the platform’s functionality.
The myCCO Portal has been successful in streamlining the certification process and improving the efficiency and effectiveness of crane operation in the industry. Crane operators and related personnel are benefiting from the platform’s user-friendly interface and the ability to easily register for exams, access study materials, renew certifications, and track their certification progress. The credential verification service is also providing employers with the confidence that their personnel are certified and up-to-date.
